Academic Advising
Academic Advising is the cornerstone of a strong and successful academic program. At College Insights, our mission is to assist students in their growth and advancement by developing educational plans that are compatible with their life goals. Advising can include many components, such as career counseling, schedule design, creating study plans, identifying the causes behind academic struggle, or even taking a student who is already excelling to the next level.
Academic Advising is for students of all ages. For college admissions, academic support is particularly helpful in 9th and 10th grade so we can fill in the gaps or weaknesses that may deter future colleges they’ll be applying to. For example, if a student is strong academically, but doesn’t have many activities or has activities in core academic areas such as tutoring elementary schools students, we will want to beef up their resume by diversifying their activities. Sometimes students are struggling but they don’t know why. Proper support can help you figure out what is going on and why your child is struggling such as an undiagnosed learning disability or poor organization skills. We then work together to give the student the tools they need to be successful.
